#MOTU 828 MKIII DRIVERS#
I am really dissappointed with apple for not having this sort of thing worked out - the newest MOTU drivers do not fix the problem, and I doubt it's a Motu problem since it works perfectly in OS9. It's not intermittant in the sense that it only happens sometimes, it always happens, and it always sounds like the audio is chopped into two second bits with a digital clip and then two seconds of silence, then audio, then silence. I don't want to buy a new audio port - I really like the Motu, and have gotten a lot of use out of it with OS9.
#MOTU 828 MKIII UPGRADE#
I don't want to pay to upgrade to Tiger and find out that it's no better.
#MOTU 828 MKIII DRIVER#
I even reset the Motu, did the voltage switch back and forth, and this caused Logic to reset the driver - it recognized it as a new device, however it still did not work properly. I uninstalled the Motu and reinstalled it, I did the factory reset that many people have mentioned worked for them, I also changed the optical in/out settings to Adat back and forth. Back to the G5 and it does not work at all. I grabbed my old G4 and booted up an old OS9 version of Logic, and the Motu 828Mkii worked perfectly in every respect. If I play back audio that was in the Logic demo I get the infamous message "Error while trying to synchronize audio and midi." It sounds like the kind of dropouts you get with digital sync problems, but I am not using any digital ins or outs, and have all settings set properly. Two seconds of signal, then drop out, then two seconds of signal, then drop out. In Logic, the Motu records with dropouts. I have a G5 2G Dual and I installed Logic 7 on it - this was the first thing added after installing my Motu 828 MkII and AMT8.
